Throughout my adult life, I have been involved in public service in one form or another. In 1993, at the age of 17 and fresh out of high school, I enlisted in the United States Air Force where I learned discipline, respect and a trade that has served me well. As a member of the Civil Engineering Squadron, I was assigned to the Pavements and Construction Equipment division as an apprentice. During my 4-year enlistment, I became certified to the journeymen level and learned all facets of pavements (concrete & asphalt) and construction equipment operation (dump trucks, track hoes, graders, bulldozers, cranes, etc.). Upon honorably discharging, I moved to the Wilmington, NC area where I began my career with the city of Wilmington as a supervisor with the Streets Department. I later transferred to the Police Department where I have since retired as a Sergeant. While working in public service, I moonlighted as a handyman for home repairs, maintenance and improvements. I have always enjoyed working with my hands, repairing things, and taking on all sorts of projects. PATRIOTIC HANDYMAN & PROPERTY PRESERVATION was born from my enjoyment of providing innovative problem solving and creating projects resulting in thoughtful, honest craftsmanship to those in need.
